ALCI's Annual Adoption Picnic

We absolutely had a wonderful time at the ALCI adoption picnic this year! It's just so hard to believe that this time last year we had just received our referral of Rhyne and Jake and were making travel arrangements to leave to meet our two babies on the other side of the world!!!

This year, it was much better though, knowing that we had finally made it home with our children and that all of our close friends had also finalized their adoptions in Russia.

We met up with two families who we have become close friends with during this process for dinner the night before the picnic. It was so nice o be able to exchange stories and see everyone face to face rather than chatting on the phone or online. All of the kids seemed to have fun playing with one another too!

On the day of the picnic, Jody came down with a virus that had been making it's way through the family. Luckily, I was able to call Grammy to meet me at the park to help me with the kids - I'm still too scared to take both of them out in public together by myself! It's hard watching and keeping up with 2 two year olds, especially at a park with lots of other children!!! She brought my niece, Gracie, along who seemed to have a great time too.

It was so nice to see all the children who our agency has been able to bring home from Russia, China, and Guatemala in order to create Forever Families!
