04/19/05 – I got the best news today!!!! Brenda called me at work about 9:30 AM (thinking that I had done something wrong on my paperwork, she informed me that we had a referral for 2 babies!!! I received the photos (my first “ultrasound”), and forwarded them to Jody. We were told that they were 18 months and 12 months, and that a video was being over-nighted to us. We decided to pray about the referral, and to ask God to help us with our decision. Jody said he wanted them no matter if they had “one arm or one leg”. He’s such a wonderful husband, and I know that he’ll be the best Daddy! I guess my water just broke!!!!!























04/21/05 – Couldn’t stand it any longer . . . . as soon as I got home, I popped in the video tape and must have watched it a half dozen times. I talked to Jody that night and told him how beautiful, smart, and adorable both of them were. Jody finally gave in to letting me name the girl Rhyne and the boy Jacob and calling him Jake. Since Jody let me name the girl Rhyne, I told him he could name her middle name anything he wanted, so we came up with Rhyne Alissa and Jacob Taylor (after his Grandmother from Pelzer). We are thanking God every night for them and praying they are safe, happy, and healthy.

04/22/05 – Jody got home from Florence, and we both watched the video a couple of times that evening. Then we went to Granny McFarlin’s to tell her the wonderful news. She was overjoyed with the idea of 2 more grandchilden. Our next stop that evening was to Papa and Granny Elrod’s, where we told them and Nanny. We had to trick them to all get together, but they were so excited!! Papa Elrod was so excited, he couldn’t sleep that night. He was so amazed at how many teeth Jake has. Everyone can’t get over Rhyne’s eyes and eyelashes – gorgeous. Nanny and Granny Elrod have already been shopping for clothes and toys, and now they had a name and face to buy for and love!
