Elmo!!

Jake's birthday party turned out to be a success despite the dreary rainy morning that we started out with. We arrived about 10:30 am and got soaked from carrying all the decorations, food and presents from the car to the picnic shelter. But, as all the guest began to arrive, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun began to shine!!!

Jake had lots of friends and family arrive, and they brought more toys and gifts than one child should ever know what to do with! Being new at this, I bought way too many Elmo balloons!!! We sent each child home with at least one balloon (some got two and three!!). All in all, Jake had a wonderful time and that's what it's all about!

Here's a great picture of Jake with his Daddy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Jake!!!! We Love You!!!

April
April is turning out to be an very busy month for Rhyne and Jake. April 1st we all went to the Shrine Circus with their cousins Camryn and Gracie. Everyone had a wonderful time and Rhyne and Jake even got to ride the ponies - courtesy of Grammy and Aunt Lori.

The next adventure was to the Greenville Zoo. We ended up going on the hotest day in April so far - Good Friday. We met some friends (Dee Ann and Jenifer) out at the zoo and the kids and us all had a good time. When we got there, they told us we only had about 30 minutes before they started putting the animals up for the day. Needless to say, we made a real quick tour through the zoo! I took pictures, but my memory card does not seem to be cooperating. Hopefully, Jenifer will let me borrow a few of her's to post.

Yeah! She came through with some pictures!!

Today was Easter. The kids had a blast getting all their gifts from all the grandparents and hunting Easter eggs. The big bunny did not make a stop at our house this year. Instead, their Daddy decided to build them a HUGE wooden swing set with every imaginable accessory. Eventually it will have a wooden swing for Mommy and Daddy to swing on. Of course, I have already tested the glider swing that is supposed to be for the kids - hey I'm a big kid too!

Our next adventures for April include, Jake's 2 year old birthday party next weekend, our 1st post placement reports, and Rhyne's tubes & adenoid surgery later this month. Yep, April is one busy month and it looks like May will be just as busy. I'm thinking this is just a prelude to the next 18 years!!!
