Say Cheese!

I decided to take Rhyne and Jake downtown to the Falls, to take some nice pictures for Father's Day. Thank goodness my Mom went along, or I would still be down there, passed out from sheer exhaustion and have no one to call 911. Just imagine a 95 degree Friday afternoon, carrying a diaper bag (filled with clothes, diapers, sippie cups, and who knows what else), a camera case, pushing a double stoller that weighed at least 100 lbs (when both kids were strapped in it), and chasing after 2 two year olds!!!!! Flat out tired, I tell ya!

Neither one of them wanted to cooperate to get a really good picture taken together, so I took what I could get. Oh yes, they were the friendly, charming children (that I know they are) when strangers would come up and say, "Oh, how cute you are" or " Daddy is really going to like his pictures". But when it actually came down to snapping the "shot", they would either take off running in the opposite direction, turn their heads because they knew that you wanted to take their picture, or give you their best impression of "What you talkin' about Willis" look - Rhyne has got that look down pat (for those who are too young to remember this famous line, it's just plain sad to explain it).

All in all we got some pretty good pictures out of our "stroll" in the park (plus I got some really good aerobic exercise!). Since Rhyne is still terrified to go have her pictures taken at one of those chain studios, I really need to invest in some kind of photoshop software, or maybe take a hobby photography class in my spare time (yeah right, what spare time???).

Cute Little Things They Do and Say . . .
Over the past couple of weeks, Rhyne and Jake have done some crazy things.

Driving to daycare one morning, I looked in the rear view mirror only to find that Rhyne had taken her socks and shoes off. I asked her to please put her socks back on before we got to school (her shoes were in the floor and I knew she couldn't reach them). So she did as I asked - to my amazement! When we got to school, I opened the back door to get her out. She had her socks turned inside out. I guess since I'm new at this Mommy business, I was afraid that the teacher would think I was retarded for putting my child's socks on inside out. So, I took her socks off and lo and behold guess what she had done??? She found a pony tail holder in her car seat and put it on her big toe so she would have a toe ring!!! All girl I tell ya!

Coming home one day a week or so ago, I smelled that distictive smell that only you can tell which child had done it. So I said, "Rhyne, did you do a stinky?". Without missing a beat she replied, "No, no stinky. Jake pottied". I could have ran off the road and wrecked from laughing so hard!!

Jake is our little streaker here lately. The child loves to take his clothes and diaper off and run around the house stark naked! I was trying to take a picture of Rhyne in her little pink leotard and tutu last night and he just kept running up beside her to be in the picture too - NAKED with only holding a sippie cup to cover his privates!! Needless to say, we weren't able to get a picture of Rhyne in her dance clothes!
